The overall purpose of performance reviews is to keep employees apprised of their performance, to assist supervisory personnel in apprising employees of their progress and/or areas that need to be strengthened, and to periodically record essential information about an employee's work performance. Performance Reviews apply to all regular full-time and regular part-time employees (excluding elected officials).
Performance evaluations are conducted at the discretion of the County and may be conducted during the third, sixth, ninth and last month prior to completing the introductory period to determine if the employee has successfully completed his or her introductory period. Performance evaluations shall normally be conducted annually on an employee's anniversary date. Special reviews may be requested by the employee or the supervisor at any time. Special reviews will not normally change the customary cycle.
