Holiday Compensation
- Regular full-time and part-time employees will be granted time off on all authorized holidays. To receive holiday compensation, an employee must have worked his/her entire shift, or be in pay status, the regular working day before and the regular working day after the observed holiday. The following authorized holidays are observed *:

Personal Holiday |
- Paid time off for holidays will not be counted as hours worked for the purposes of determining overtime.
- When a holiday falls on Saturday, it shall be observed on the preceding Friday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed. When Christmas Eve falls on a Friday then the preceding Thursday is observed. When Christmas Eve falls on Sunday then the preceding Friday is observed.
- Regular part-time employees receive pro-rated benefits based upon regular scheduled hours.
- Personal Holiday Provisions
Eligible employees will receive one (1) Personal Holiday each year. This holiday must be scheduled with the prior approval of the employee's Supervisor. Personal Holidays must be taken in whole days. Personal Holidays that are not used during the calendar year are forfeited.
*Exceptions to these holidays may be necessary in some County departments. These employees should see department work rules or union contracts for specific hours.
