Computer Use Policy

Trempealeau County Government ("County") provides employees with access to and the use of a variety of information technology resources. These resources are provided to employees in an effort to allow them to be more efficient, productive, and to have access to information that is necessary for them to carry out their responsibilities as an employee of the County. Employees are expected and required to use these information technology resources in a manner consistent with their position and work responsibilities with the County.

In addition, employees are expected to follow all appropriate security practices and procedures designed to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and the associated automated systems.

Inappropriate use of the County's information technology resources or failure to follow the appropriate policies and procedures for information security and technology use may result in discipline up to and including discharge of employment. In addition, some information is protected by law, for which misuse by employees may result in legal, criminal, or monetary penalties including fines and/or imprisonment.
